DEAR SUN SPOTS: The North Waterford Congregational Church in North Waterford has over 300 jigsaw puzzles that we are willing to lend to anyone who would like to borrow them.

There are no restrictions on who borrows the puzzles, how long they are kept, or how many are taken out.

The puzzles include every subject you can imagine and are from 100 to 3,000 pieces. They are all donations from the community.

The church is on Route 35 across from the famous Melby’s Market. It is open every Monday afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m., weather permitting. We do ask you to mask up when you come inside. If this time isn’t convenient for you, call me at 583-2822 and we can arrange a time for you to come in.

I love your column and read it every day. — Milly, North Waterford

ANSWER: Oh Milly, this makes my heart sing! In these times, we need to be thinking outside the box to help one another be entertained. What a great thing the church has provided to the community. I know so many people who are into jig-saw puzzles and I hope other communities will take this idea and run with it!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Does your Rolodex contain information about any businesses that repair over-the-air DVRs, in particular Tablo OTA DVRs? — No name, no town

ANSWER: I do not have information on these devices. For those who don’t know, an OTA DVR is just an antenna DVR. Like a regular DVR, it has an input for your TV source (just plug in the antenna where the cable would go) and then it writes what it records to a hard drive, allowing you to later access that recording and play it on demand. Pretty slick, as long as they work properly!

Let’s get this SOS out into Sun Spots Land to see if another reader knows how to help. Meanwhile, I found a website for support: https://www.tablotv.com/support/.

This site has forums and blogs with frequently asked questions. You can also email them to create a job ticket through their online form or you can call them Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at 1-844-822-5688. The company also publishes several how-to tips on Facebook and YouTube if you are a user of social media. They say they will respond to you in one business day. I’d say that’s good service. Let us know how things turn out. It’s no fun to go without watching our favorite shows especially during these long, dark night.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I brought my potted geraniums inside just before the first frost and put them in a sunny spot. They did well at first but now they are leggy and not blooming as vigorously. I don’t want to lose them. Is it too late to do something to keep them looking nice? — Patsy, no town

ANSWER: A local greenhouse will be happy to help you with specifics but I bring my geraniums inside in the winter too and let them do their thing. The key is to have them in a sunny spot but away from any heat sources. Just keep picking off the dead leaves and blooms and don’t let them get too dry.
