According to a written statement of Sanborn-Silvers, he is “a proud citizen of the great state of Maine, but we have important issues that need our attention. We have a crisis of mental health, substance abuse and homelessness. All of these issues are tied together and they need to be addressed together.”

He also said that “no veteran should be homeless or hungry after he/she has served our country.”

According to his statement, Sanborn-Silver is “strongly against any new taxes of any kind. We need to assess the revenues we are presently receiving from the cannabis industry and other existing taxes.”

A graduate of Melrose High School in Melrose, Massachusetts, Sanborn-Silver attended the University of Maine at Orono and Bangor Seminary.

He is a founding member and former treasurer of New Beginnings in Lewiston, and is a member of High Street Congregational Church in Auburn, where he has served as clerk, deacon and as a member of the church council.

Sanborn-Silvers is employed by SeniorsPlus in the nutrition department. He resides in Lewiston with his husband Peter Sanborn-Silvers.
