An Acadian screech owl, has been presented by W.H. Waterman of East Auburn to Dean F. E Pomeroy, to be mounted for the Stanton bird collection at Bates college. It seems that at the farm where the bird was found, the top rail of a board fence was painted white and the lower ones yellow. Unable to distinguish the white boards, the unfortunate owl flew against them and was immediately killed.
