Mathematics is the study of numbers, how they relate to each other, and how they relate to the real world. The short way of saying it is math.

In English there are two ways that people pronounce it: with three syllables (MATH-MAT-ics) or with four syllables: (MA-the-MAT-ics). Either way is correct.
