Hats off to Elliott Epstein for calling out Paul LePage on the malarkey that he has been spreading about Gov. Janet Mills.
This the same man who never received over 50% of the votes cast during his election runs for governor, and who three times failed to follow the mandates of referendum votes by Maine citizens — twice for Medicaid expansion, and once for expanding the state’s share of school funding to 55%.
Janet Mills has done both, and at the same time increased Maine’s rainy day fund to record levels during a pandemic.
I say to Tom Shields (“Questions for Democrat-controlled government,” Feb. 24) that Maine is doing quite well under Democratic leadership.
