We would like to share with you a very important topic. It doesn’t matter what you look like, who you are, where you live, how much money your family has, what color you skin is, where you come from or how different you may be from those around you.
You are important. You matter. You have every right to stand up for yourself.
The news has been full of stories about lawmakers trying to get rid of rights for members of our community and in our country.
For example, the rights and lives of our LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and more) friends are being threatened by laws that would take away their rights and leave them feeling very unsafe.
Although this may feel like something you can’t control or make a difference to, that’s not true. You have the power to use your voice for good.
We know that bullying happens in school and in the community every day. If it is happening to you or you know it is happening to someone else, we want you to use your voice, empower yourself and stand up for what is right.
We know it won’t be easy, but it will help you become a strong and caring person.
We stand with you.
