AUBURN — Fire destroyed a two-story house Sunday evening at 36 Old Farm Hill Road.
Auburn and Lewiston firefighters responded to the fire at 4:56 p.m. and fought the blaze for nearly three hours, according to Chief Robert Chase of the Auburn Fire Department.
All residents were able to get out of the house safely, and neither firefighter nor occupants of the house sustained any injuries.
The cause of the fire, which extensively damaged the house’s second floor, was not known Sunday night, Chase said. Two vehicles in the driveway also sustained heat-related damage.
Two families were relocated by the American Red Cross, according to Chase.
Chase said investigators are expected to continue their investigation Monday. Auburn firefighters were assisted by the Lewiston Fire Department and the Auburn Police Department on the scene, while Minot and Mechanic Falls fire departments provided coverage at Central Station on Minot Avenue.
