BETHEL — A few weeks ago, many TMS students chose to wear blue and yellow instead of our traditional Telstar blue and white Friday in order to show solidarity with the Ukrainian people and our hope for peace.
Thank you, Cole Katlin, for inviting us to join you in a simple yet powerful demonstration of empathy. Cole Katlin and Mrs. Luetje made an announcement to the school the Wednesday before: “We are asking students and teachers to join us in wearing blue and yellow on Friday. Those are the colors of Ukraine.
The blue represents peace, the sky above their land, and the rivers that run through it. Yellow represents prosperity and the wheat fields covering the countryside. We will be wearing blue and yellow on Friday to show that we support the people of Ukraine and their freedom. We hope you will join us.”
