NORRIDGEWOCK — A Madison man was arrested after he fled from a Maine State Police trooper who was attempting to take him into custody in Norridgewock for violating the terms of his probation, a state police spokeswoman said Tuesday.
Thirty-five-year-old Christopher Shulenski had an active warrant for his arrest when the trooper saw Shulenski on Monday walking along the side of Madison Road, according to state police spokeswoman Shannon Moss. Shulenski was being sought because he “failed to meet the conditions of his probation” when he was charged earlier with domestic violence criminal threatening, Moss said.
The trooper attempted to apprehend him but Shulenski fled on foot into the woods.
State police were joined by Somerset County sheriff’s deputies in searching for Shulenski and he was found a few hours later at a home on Mercer Road, Moss said.
Shulenski was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Somerset County Jail in Madison.
He was arrested on the active warrant and charged with refusing to submit to arrest, Moss said.
