The officers and members of the Slovak Catholic Association recently approved support for Ukrainian refugees coming to Slovakia.
Slovakia shares a 60-mile boarder with Ukraine and has opened its country to support the tens of thousands who are seeking refuge in Slovakia.
The association approved a donation of $500, and $126 has so far been received from members at the social club.
These funds will be added to those that Geroge J. Janosco Sr. has collected from family and friends who are supporting this cause of helping Slovakia aid Ukrainians in their hardship.
The Slovak Catholic Association was founded 125 years ago in 1897, when more than 300 immigrant families from Slovakia began settling in Lisbon Falls.
