River Arts in Damariscotta is showcasing a mixed media exhibition by Isabella Corwin of Bristol at the gallery at 36 Elm St. Plaza in Damariscotta. Featuring paintings, cloisonné jewelry and enamel works, this show opens in the River Room on April 28 and continues through May 18.
The artist’s reception for Corwin’s solo show is set for 2-4 p.m. Saturday, May 14, conjunction with the opening reception of “Wild Things” in the main galleries.
This exhibition is a celebration of the female form in a collection of work spanning decades of creation through to the present day. Multimedia depictions of women, including painting, drawing and enamels, display a wide range of expert handling of diverse materials.
Corwin’s enamel works are high fired vitreous enamel on metal. She presents her works in many different forms from intricate cloisonné jewelry to larger wall pieces. The juxtaposition of the boisterous “Big Girls” and the highly refined detail of the cloisonné demonstrate the breadth of Corwin’s scope.
Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
