DEAR SUN SPOTS: After reading a lot of responses regarding trying to stop a cat from scratching furniture and other things, I did not want to use squirt bottles for fear of getting the kitty scared of water. I bought a can of air. The noise alone stops them without squirting water all over the place. After using the canned air, I do not even have to squeeze the can. All I have to do is pick it up and they run and stop whatever mischief they may be doing. Thanks for always being there. — Dawn, Lisbon
ANSWER: What a great idea! Thanks for writing.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: I misplaced the Sun Spots of Tuesday, May 10. Enjoying the rhubarb recipes but would like to have the recipe for Jiffy Cake Rhubarb Dessert. Thank you so very much. The Rhubarb Surprise Pie and Rhubarb/Onion Relish are both delightful. Appreciate your consideration of this request. — Peg, No town
ANSWER: Here is the recipe for rhubarb cake that was published May 10, sent in by David from Poland Spring: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place 4 cups chopped rhubarb in a buttered 7- by 10-inch baking pan. Sprinkle 1 cup (or less) sugar over the rhubarb then sprinkle on the contents of a 3-ounce box strawberry Jell-O. Add the contents of a 9-ounce box of Jiffy yellow cake mix. Gently pour on 1 cup of warm water then add 5 tablespoons melted butter. Do not stir. Bake for one hour.
