FRYEBURG — Atlantis Martin threw a one-hit shutout for Poland (15-1) and drove in three runs as the Knights rolled past Fryeburg Academy (7-9) 11-0 in five innings in WMC softball action Wednesday.
Khloe O’Leary connected on a double and a two-run homer for Poland, Emma Bunyea tallied three hits and Olivia Rioux added a pair of hits.
LEAVITT 11, ERSKINE ACADEMY 2: Sam DeBlois collected three hits and Nola Boutaugh singled and homered to lead the Hornets (11-5) past the Eagles (3-13) in China.
Abby Albert pitched five innings for Leavitt and picked up the win.
Kenzie Kutniewski singled and doubled for Erskine.
HALL-DALE 13, MT. ABRAM 0 (5 INN.): The Bulldogs scored eight runs in the fourth inning en route to a mercy-rule victory over the Roadrunners in Farmingdale.
Hall-Dale (15-0) got multiple hits from Lily Platt (home run, single, five RBIs), Zoe Soule (four singles), Emma Soule (two singles, three RBIs) and Rita Benoit (two singles, two RBI). Benoit claimed the win for the Bulldogs in the circle.
Adrianna Stinchfield took the loss for Mt. Abram, which fell to 5-11.
BUCKFIELD 8, OAK HILL 4: Winning pitcher Carmen Crockett struck out 12 batters and gave up one hit in the Bucks’ victory over the Raiders (7-9) in Wales.
Crockett also supplied three hits and drove in a run for Buckfield (8-8). Kayden Haylock also hammered out three hits and drove in two runs.
The Bucks belted out 16 hits for the day.
MESSALONSKEE 18, MT. BLUE 0 (5 INN.): Morgan Wills pitched a no-hitter, striking out 14 batters for the Eagles in a win over the Cougars in Farmington.
Wills, a junior, surpassed 300 career strikeouts in the win.
Jordan Lambert smacked a grand slam in the first inning for Messalonskee (5-11).
Mt. Blue falls to 1-15.
BASEBALL
FRYEBURG 10, POLAND 2: Winning pitcher Noah Grant went the distance and allowed only four hits in the Raiders’ (5-11) win over the Knights in Fryeburg.
Grant also collected two hits and two RBIs. Fryeburg Academy totaled nine hits for the day.
For the Knights (9-7), Hunter Gibson and Grady Hart both notched RBIs.
ERSKINE ACADEMY 7, LEAVITT 2: The Eagles closed out the regular season with a win by defeating the Hornets in Turner.
Erskine’s Isaac Hayden, the winning pitcher, helped his cause at the plate with three singles. Holden McKenney and Liam Perfetto tallied two singles each for the Eagles (14-2).
For Leavitt (7-9), Brogan McCormick and Blake Springer recorded two singles each. Colton Taylor was the losing pitcher for the Hornets.
OAK HILL 12, BOOTHBAY 2: Isaac Morrissette doubled, singled and drove in two runs in the Raiders’ (10-6) win over the Seahawks (2-14) in Wales.
Ethan Vattaso and Caden Thompson each tripled, with Thompson driving in a pair of runs.
Vattaso and Jackson Arbour each shared the pitching duties on the mound.
MT. ABRAM 6, HALL-DALE 2: The Roadrunners scored three runs apiece in the fifth and seventh innings to top the Bulldogs in Farmingdale.
Ian Allen and Cam Grey both singled twice for Mt. Abram (14-2) in the win, and Trey Pease hit a triple. Adam Luce claimed the win for the Roadrunners on the mound.
For Hall-Dale (7-9) Jackson Leach hit two singles, and Max Byron took the loss.
GIRLS LACROSSE
MT. BLUE 12, BANGOR 5: Emma Dunn dished out five assists to go along with her two goals in the Cougars’ (8-4) win over the Rams (3-9) in Farmington.
Talia Kidder, Chloe Roberts and Eryn Parlin each notched three goals and an assist and Maya Kellett scored the other goal for Mt. Blue. Brielle Hill and Rachel Maxim pitched in with an assist each and Michelle Seaberg made seven saves in the Cougars’ goal.
HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS
SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED: Five high school seniors have been selected to receive $5,000 scholarships from the Maine Sports Hall of Fame.
The student-athletes are: Emma Charles, a state champion Nordic skier at Mt. Blue; Sydney Gallop, a two-time all-American soccer player at Hermon; Thomas Horton, an outstanding two-way football lineman at Bonny Eagle; Maddie Strouse, who led Scarborough to the Class A state volleyball title; and Trevor Wozny, a three-sport star at Marshwood.
The scholarships will be awarded in a ceremony on June 19 at Sunday River in Newry.
