To the Editor:
It was a great day in Norway for fishing for the 55+ youth who attended the 7th Annual Norway Family Fishing Festival on Saturday, June 4, at Butters Park. This family educational day was created to teach children aged 16 and under how to fish or improve their fishing skills. Over 20 fish were caught this year with many being grilled onsite!
The Stuart B Cummings Lifetime License Fishing Award was won by Hayley Clouser, age 13, of Paris. Stuart was an avid lifetime fisherman; taught how to fish by his Grandfather. In memory of Stuart, Joan Cummings donated the funds to allow this award to be given. We thank the following for their donations to help support the event: Joan Cummings, Café Nomad, Casco Fish Hatchery, DIFW, Dolce Amici, Healthy Oxford Hills, Lake Thompson Fish & Game, Mainely Melts, Mollyocket Trout Unlimited, Norway Downtown, Norway-Paris Fish & Game Association, Norway Fire Department, Norway Police Department, Norway Parks & Recreation, and The Lake Store.
This Event is a collaborative effort of the Norway Parks & Recreation Department, Mollyockett Trout Unlimited, Norway~Paris Fish & Game Association, Lake Thompson Fish & Game, Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, Norway Downtown, and Healthy Oxford Hills.
Thank You,
Debra Partridge
