Some of the Perryville residents didn’t quite agree with the beautiful description of the Logan in Auburn by one of the Edward Little High pupils Thursday night. She forgot the odor, said one of the signers of the sewer petition.
50 Years Ago: 1972
The doors of the Central Maine General Hospital are always open to those who need its services, but one seeking attention today was “a bit much.” The “outpatient” was a black and brown pug dog who wandered in off the street. He seemed not in need of medical attention. Perhaps he was looking for his master. The animal, whose attire consisted of a dressy studded collar, but no tags, was turned over to the SPCA shelter on the Old Hotel Road in Auburn.
25 Years Ago: 1997
Dave Ehrenfried of Lewiston shot a hole-in-one during a recent round of play at the Augusta Country Club. The retired Journal employee used a 6-iron on the No. 17, 130-yard hole to register the ace.
