Define what “success” would look like if you are elected to serve your district.
Our system of government is of the people, by the people, and for the people. We can only be successful if we, the people, spend time and energy becoming involved in local government. Success would see people holding state government to greater accountability, thinking critically about the issues, and partnering with elected leaders in our system of self-governance, especially in the area of restoring our God-given liberties.
Characterize your view on public access to governmental business.
Sunshine is the best antiseptic. Government decision-making, in every way, should be transparent to the public whom it serves. The executive branch departments designate funds, award grants and contracts. These agencies also have enormous impact on Mainers’ lives through rulemaking and regulation, yet their decisions are easily buried beneath opaque layers of bureaucracy. Greater transparency is critical.
