Rumford Public Library is scheduled to be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 18 and 19.
During the closure, staff will rearrange the young adult and adult collections of library books. Also during this time, the windows in the Public Room will be replaced, according to a news release from Abby Austin, circulation supervisor at the library.
The reorganization of materials aims to provide the library with more space to increase and update the collections. The replaced windows will be more energy efficient for heating and cooling the large meeting space.
If the move of materials is not completed in the two-day closure, the library will reopen via curbside services only for up to two more days. The additional days would be Thursday and Friday, Oct. 20-21. Curbside services will include checking out materials, making copies and sending faxes. The library would be closed to browsing and using computers.
The Public Room will be closed for event booking Tuesday through Friday, Oct. 18-21.
The library will be open as normal again on Monday, Oct. 24.
For more information, follow the library on Facebook or Instagram or call 207-364-3661.
