PORTSMOUTH, N.H. — Eli Soehren threw four touchdown passes as Oxford Hills pulled away from Portsmouth/Oyster River 48-13 in a Maine vs. New Hampshire high school football matchup Friday night.

Jake Carson started the scoring for the Vikings (8-0) with a 3-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. The Clippercats (4-4) tied the game 6-6 in the second quarter on an Aidan Thomas 4-yard TD pass to Daniel Doherty.

Soehren then connected twice with Lincoln Merrill for touchdown passes (for 37 and 8 yards) to put Oxford Hills in control and up 20-6 at halftime.

The Vikings sandwiched two touchdowns (Trey Morrison 2-yard run and Tanner Bickford 2-yard pass from Soehren) around a Thomas 3-yard touchdown run for Portsmouth/Oyster River in the third quarter.

Soehren threw his fourth and final touchdown pass to Teigan Pelletier in the fourth quarter from 14 yards out, and Merrill returned a fumble 22 yards for a touchdown.

Soehren finished 18 of 29 for 224 yards. Pelletier was his favorite target, with five catches for 83 yards. Morrison was the leading rusher with 82 yards on 15 carries.

LEAVITT 44, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 6: Noah Carpenter threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more to lead the Hornets (8-0) past the Raiders (4-4) in Fryeburg.

Carpenter opened the scoring with a 30-yard TD pass to Dayton Calder, then ran in from 1 and 40 yards to give Leavitt a 23-0 lead after one quarter. Carpenter kicked an extra point, ran for a 2-point conversion and threw a conversion pass to Brett Coburn in the first 12 minutes.

Sawyer Hathaway caught a 6-yard TD pass from Carpenter in the second quarter, with Carpenter adding the extra point to make it 30-0 at halftime.

Calder added a 6-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, and Carpenter connected with Nick Morin for the 2-point conversion. Keegan Reny rounded out the Hornets’ scoring with a 40-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Carpenter passed for 122 yards and rushed for 103.

SCARBOROUGH 49, EDWARD LITTLE 30: D’Angelo Alston passed for three touchdowns in the first half, including a 59 yarder to Charlie Murray that opened the scoring for the Red Storm (5-3) in a Class A win over the Red Eddies (2-6) at Scarborough.

Tyler Crockett added four TD runs.

Bennett Dubois caught two touchdown passes for Edward Little, one from Drew Smith and one from Tate Morse. Morse also scored on an 18-yard run.

DIRIGO 47, BOOTHBAY 28: Charlie Houghton had touchdown runs of 30, 47 and 3 yards and also threw a 47-yard touchdown pass to Trent Holman as the Cougars (6-2) downed the Seahawks (2-6) in an 8-man Small School South quarterfinal in Dixfield.
Trenton Hutchinson had touchdown runs of 41 and 8 yards for No. 3 Dirigo, and he also kicked a 27-yard field goal and converted four extra points.

For No. 6 Boothbay, Kayden Ames ran for two touchdowns and Tyler Barter and Dylan Plummer each added 10-yard touchdown runs.
