The citizens of Androscoggin/Oxford/Franklin counties are fortunate to have two honorable candidates running for district attorney.
The job of a district attorney requires much more than being a trial attorney. The budget is governed by three sets of county commissioners, temporary grants, and the Attorney General’s Office.
I have known and worked with Deputy District Attorney Neil McLean for many years. He is an experienced prosecutor and an intelligent, kind and thoughtful man.
Neil understands the complexities of managing an office where some of the employees are county employees, some are state employees and others are hired on grants. He already works with the software that is exclusive to prosecutors.
He has experience working as an ADA in other districts, and thus has a statewide view of what works and what does not.
Neil would be able to step seamlessly and effectively into the position of district attorney.
