A sign frames players learning about pétanque from world champion Marco Foyot on Friday at the Mill Park pétanque courts in Augusta. Foyot is a seven-time French national champion and won the country’s junior championship twice. As a member of France’s triples team in World Pétanque Championship competition, he has won a gold, a silver and four bronze medals. In a news release Ray Fecteau, founder of a pétanque club, wrote a clinic with Foyot would be similar to having Arnold Palmer or Tiger Woods come to teach at a local golf course.
