World Champion Marco Foyot, of France, visited the Mill Park pétanque courts Friday in Augusta for a demonstration and clinic. In pétanque, players aim to beat opponents by throwing boules as close to a target ball as possible while standing in a circle with both feet on the ground. Foyot is a seven-time French national champion in the sport and also won the country's junior championship twice. As a member of France's triples team in World Pétanque Championship competition, he has won a gold, a silver and four bronze medals. All photos by Joe Phelan.
