Brendan Gibbons and Kellen Murphy each netted a goal and an assist to lead the Maine Nordiques past the Philadelphia Rebels 5-2 in an NAHL East Division game in Sewell, New Jersey, on Friday night.
Oliver Genest notched three assists and now has a team-leading 12 helpers.
The win improves the Nordiques to 7-7 on the season and they are now riding a five-game win streak.
Anthony Achille tallied the lone goal in the first period, giving the Nordiques a 1-0 lead.
Aidan Coue scored his first goal of the season, extending Maine’s lead to 2-0 early in the second period. Gibbons scored midway through the second stanza for a 3-0 lead.
Connor Sedlak scored for Philadelphia (4-9-1, 9 points), cutting the deficit to 3-1.
Patrick Schmiedlin answered for the Nordiques to regain a three-goal lead.
Bryce Strand scored late in the second period for the Rebels.
Murphy scored in the third period as the Nordiques pulled away with a 5-2 lead.
Kael DePape stopped 38 shots in the victory for the Nordiques. Jack Fialkoff and Jakub Krbecek combined to make 31 saves in the loss.
The Nordiques go for the weekend sweep of the Rebels on Saturday night.
