100 Years Ago: 1922

A delegation of Norway Boy Scouts, with Scout Master C. Perham, went on a hike to Mount Mica Friday night and contrary to the usual weather they had a night and day made on purpose. A glorious moon shone all the evening and everything moved along finely. The youngsters had a good time and camped in true scout style, cooked their meals like veterans and came home, enthusiastic about their scouting experience.

50 Years Ago: 1972

When members of the First Auburn Senior Group met recently, Richard Gross, Lewiston Public Librarian facilities, and Mrs. Muriel Landry, assistant, discussed the library facilities, including the visual aides available to the handicapped.

Tickets are available from Ruby Dow for the Little Theater Musical, “How To Succeed in in Business Without Trying,” which will be held at 3 pm, Sunday, Nov. 19 at the Central School Auditorium.

25 Years Ago: 1997

A miniature doll and bear show will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. Adults, $3; children under 12 accompanied by an adult, $1. It will feature miniatures, doll houses, room boxes, doll clothes and teddy bears. Maine author Anne Day Smith will be on hand and there will be miniature workshops. There will be a snack bar. Proceeds will benefit Meals on Wheels. Sponsored by Central Maine Miniature Enthusiasts Club, a nonprofit group. FMI, contact Mari Dillingham.
