100 Years Ago: 1922

Canton village school will hold a pie sale Wednesday night at 7.30 o’clock at the schoolhouse, the proceeds to go towards a Victrola for the purpose of furnishing music for the pupils’ marches. Women are requested to bring pies and the gentlemen may take them home after purchasing,

50 Years Ago: 1972

The five daughters of Dr. and Mrs. Wilfred Cloutier of Main Street, Lewiston, will perform a program of Christmas music when the Ladies of Charity of St. Peter and Paul Church hold their Christmas party on Dec.6. The young entertainers are Marie and Pauline who will accompany Lisa, Gizelle and Suzanne on the guitar.

The meeting will open with the celebration of Mass at 7 pm at St Dominic’s Chapel to be followed by a brief business meeting.

Mrs. Raymond Dutil is general chairman of the party and Mrs. Gerard Theriault, president, will preside.

25 Years Ago: 1997

Holiday Splendor will be featured at the Victoria Mansion, 109 Danforth St. in Portland from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
