Public libraries of the Oxford Hills plan to host a presentation of Mad Science’s Holiday Spectacular at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Deering Memorial Community Center at 39 Main St. in South Paris.

Mad Science of Maine offers youth programs which introduce fundamental science concepts. In the holiday spectacular, participants can experience a festival of lights created by indoor fireworks, learn about “special ice” shipped directly from the North Pole, and discover “magical” no-melt snow.

The event, which is free and open to all, will last approximately an hour, according to a news release from Paris Public Library.

The Oxford Hills public libraries include the Hamlin Memorial Library, Harrison Village Library, Freeland Holmes Library of Oxford, Norway Memorial Library, Paris Public Library, Waterford Library, and the West Paris Public Library.
