LEWISTON — Timothee Ouellette broke a tie in the second period and then scored on of St. Dominic Academy’s two third-period goals in a 4-1 boys hockey victory at The Colisee on Friday.
St. Dom’s Thomas Casserly and Lewiston’s Aizyk Laliberte each scored in the first period.
Oullette put the Saints up 2-1 with a goal set up by Miles Frenette and Ben Dumais. Oullette scored his second goal 14 seconds into the third period, and Erik Jones made the lead 4-1 less than a minute later.
Ridge Dionne assisted on both third-period goals, and Dumais earned a second helper on Ouellette’s second goal. Saints goalie Jayden Lynn finished with 28 saves.
Colton Daniels and Adrien Theriault assisted on Laliberte’s goal. Gabe Pomerleau made 18 saves and Ben Cloutier stopped 10 shots for Lewiston.
BOYS BASKETBALL
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 86, POLAND 56: Michael Ryan Jr. scored 20 points and Noah Hebert got 10 of his 17 points in the first quarter as the Patriots (2-2) cruised past the Knights (2-3) in Poland.
Nathan Hebert added 16 points for Gray-NG, which led 29-21 after one quarter and 45-25 at halftime.
Hayden Christener paced Poland with 20 points. John Patenaude had 13, Shane Yorkey scored 12 and Hunter Brackett tallied 10.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
OXFORD HILLS 70, HAMPDEN ACADEMY 41: The Vikings (5-0) dominated a matchup of Class AA unbeatens, jumping out to a 22-11 lead after one quarter and cruising past the Broncos (3-1) in Paris.
Sierra Carson led Oxford Hills and all scorers with 22 points, including three 3-pointers. Ella Pelletier contributed 13 points to the victory, while Tristen Derenburger made four 3s for 12 points and Molly Corbett hit three treys for nine points.
Bella McLaughlin made three 3s and scored a team-high 17 points for Hampden, and Lucy Wiles added 11 points.
