DIXFIELD — Dirigo preserved its unblemished record, shaking off Carrabec with a 76-57 victory in a Mountain Valley Conference boys basketball game on Wednesday.
The Cougars (10-0) were led by Charlie Houghton with 17 points, followed by Airick Richards (13) and Trent Holman (12). Dirigo made nine 3-pointers to help dismiss the Cobras
Luke Carey tossed in a game-high 22 points for the Cobras (3-5), and Joel Gehrke scored 15.
MT. ABRAM 89, TELSTAR 30: Kaden Pillsbury scored 24 points as the Roadrunners (7-2) earned the easy win in Salem.
Payton Mitchell and Cam Grey added 13 points each for Mt. Abram, which saw 11 different players enter the scoresheet.
Wyatt Lilly scored 14 points for Telstar (1-7), while Evan Leach finished with 12.
HALL-DALE 61, BUCKFIELD 39: TJ Wilson and Jackson Leach paced the Bulldogs (6-2) to a road win over the Bucks (2-7) in Buckfield.
Wilson led Hall-Dale with 14 points, while Leach finished with 10. Tayshawn Cleveland contributed eight points, Carter Bourque had seven, and Keegan Cary and Nick Brown each hit two 3-pointers and scored six points.
Buckfield’s Ayden Jefferson put up a game-high 24 points. Gavin Charest added six, and R.J. Loring had five.
MONMOUTH 64, OAK HILL 44: Sammy Calder dropped in the game-high 25 points and Hunter Frost and Manny Calder combined for 31 points in the Mustangs’ (6-2) win over the Raiders in Wales.
Frost finished with 20 points and Manny Calder had 11.
Eli Desmond scored 11 points for Oak Hill (1-9), and Gage Spier scored nine.
GIRLS HOCKEY
MT. ARARAT/LISBON/MORSE/LINCOLN/OCEANSIDE/BOOTHBAY 4, LEWISTON 1: The Eagles (6-3) scored two goals in the first period and tow in the third and rolled away with a win against the Blue Devils (7-4) at Sidney J. Watson Arena in Brunswick.
Caragh Beasley, Mallory Stuart, Allie Hunter and Maggie Fitzpatrick each scored a goal for the Eagles, with assists going to Alex Durant, who had two, and Remy LeBel with one.
Lewiston’s lone goal came in the third period when Avaya Desjardins scored on a Crew Langley assist.
BOYS HOCKEY
FRYEBURG/LAKE REGION/OXFORD HILLS 10, MT. ARARAT/LISBON/MORSE 2: Caleb Micklon and Conner Richard each turned in hat tricks to send the Ice Cats (3-2) past the Eagles (1-5) in Brunswick.
Richard also tallied two assists and Micklon one. Garrett Wooster, Marshall Tibbetts, Owen Galligan and Neil Heath were the other goal-scorers for the Ice Cats, with Galligan providing three assists and Tibbetts one of his own. Kadan Neureuther and Cohen Carter each notched two assists.
Jacob Fullerton and Jameson Fowler scored for the Eagles, with Zander Kirk and Johnny Hole both tallying assists in the game.
Nate Metcalf stopped 21 shots in the win for the Ice Cats, while Sam Young and James Paquette split time in the Eagles’ net, with Young making 15 saves and Paquette adding five.
