DELHI, N.Y. — University of Maine at Farmington took complete control in the third quarter of an 82-37 victory over SUNY Delhi in North Atlantic Conference women’s basketball action Saturday.

Rosalie White scored 10 of her game-high 19 points in the third quarter, when the Beavers (2-12, 1-5 NAC) outscored the Broncos (2-15, 0-7 NAC) 22-2 to take a 62-24 lead. Jacqui Hamilton scored 12 points for UMaine-Farmington and Jalyn Stacey came off the bench to put out 10 points and 15 rebounds.

Jennifer Roche Jimenez paced the Broncos with 11 points.

AMHERST 52, BATES 48: The Bobcats (7-7, 1-2 NESCAC) nearly overcame a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter, but the Mammoths (12-4, 2-2) held on for a win in Amherst, Massachusetts.

Meghan Graff paced Bates with 18 points. Morgan Kennedy and Sophie Spolter each had 10.

MAINE 71, UMBC 54: Adrianna Smith scored 25 points, and Anne Simon scored eight of her 15 points in the third quarter as the Black Bears (8-8, 4-0 America East) pulled away from the Retrievers (6-10, 3-2) in Orono for their fourth straight win.

Smith also grabbed 10 rebounds, and Caroline Bornemann added 13 points for Maine, which outscored UMBC 19-10 in the third quarter to open a 54-42 lead.

MEN’S BASKETBALL
UMBC 85, UMAINE 77: The Retrievers (12-6, 3-1 America East) rallied from an 11-point deficit in the second half to beat the Black Bears (6-11, 0-4) in Baltimore.

Tra’Von Fagan had 21 points for UMBC. Gedi Juozapaitis had 24 points for UMaine.

SUNY-DELHI 85, UMF 63: The Broncos (10-7, 4-3 NAC) held Terion Moss to seven points and dealt the Beavers (9-5, 5-1 NAC) their first conference loss of the season, in Delhi, New York.

SUNY-Delhi’s Jacob Beach led all scorers with 24 points, making 9 of 11 field goals and  3 of 4 from 3-point range. Lester McCarthy and Pablo Quinones each added 15 points to the victory and Mavenson Therneus had 11.

Nathan Poulin paced UMaine-Farmington with 16 points, while Jack Kane finished with 14. Kane also grabbed a game-high nine rebounds and blocked three shots.

AMHERST 75, BATES 62, OT: The Mammoths (7-9, 3-2 NESCAC) outscored the Bobcats (5-10, 0-3 NESCAC) 15-2 in overtime to earn a road win Alumni Gym in Lewiston.

Bates trailed by 10 at halftime but outscored Amherst 42-32 in the second half to force overtime.

Mohammed Alausa paced the Mammoths with 19 points, while Canin Reynolds and Noah Helmke scored 12 each.

Bates’ Steph Baxter put up a game-high 27 points. Peter Psyhogeos also scored in double figures for the Bobcats, finishing with 12 points.
