LISBON — Reports of a suicidal man firing a gun at a Proctor Road residence Tuesday ended without injuries, police Chief Ryan McGee said in a news release.
The unnamed man, 60, was arrested and brought to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation. He will be charged with discharging a firearm too close to a dwelling and reckless conduct with a firearm, McGee said.
Lisbon police officers responded around 8:37 p.m. and several attempts to establish contact with the man went unanswered.
Maine State Police Tactical team was called in and, with the help of a drone, officers were able to talk him out without incident around 9:40 p.m.
Lisbon and state police were assisted by off-duty Lisbon officers, Lisbon Fire Department and United Ambulance. Lisbon public works closed the roadway and set up traffic detours.
