LEWISTON — YWCA Central Maine at 130 East Ave. is offering a four-day basic water safety class for parents and caregivers in June.
The class will be offered twice from 3-4:30 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, June 20-23 and 4-5:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, June 26-29; space is limited.
Parents can learn first aid and CPR basics, what the dangers are for different types of bodies of water, and how to support their children as they learn to swim, according to a news release from Jennifer Molloy, YWCA chief development and communications officer.
Children are invited to join on the last day of class.
Each class is led by an American Red Cross certified water safety instructor
Scholarships are available upon request.
