Fr. Daniel Greenleaf, pastor of Prince of Peace Parish in Lewiston, invites all to gather Thursday, Feb. 2, for a celebration on the World Day of Prayer for Consecrated Life.
The event serves as a moment to celebrate the gift of consecrated life by thanking women religious in the diocese, all of whom are invited to attend, according to a news release from Dave Guthro, communications director, Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland.
The event, organized by the parish and St. Mary’s Health System, is scheduled to be held in the chapel of the St. Mary’s Residences at 100 Campus Ave. in Lewiston. It begins with witness talks and conversation at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass celebrated by Bishop Robert Deeley at 11 a.m. A lunch and reception sponsored by St. Mary’s Health System will begin at noon.

Instituted by St. Pope John Paul II in 1997, the World Day of Prayer for Consecrated Life is celebrated in conjunction with the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, also known as Candlemas Day
