GRAY — Nate Hebert scored 25 points, including six 3-pointers, as Gray-New Gloucester shook off York to seize a 70-61 overtime victory in a boys basketball game Saturday.
Hebert had nine points on two 3s, two 2-point field goals and a free throw in overtime, when the Patriots (14-3) outscored York 13-4. Noah Hebert finished with 18 points and Aiden Hebert added 11 for Gray-New Gloucester.
Connor Roberge led York with 21 points, followed by Lukas Bouchard with 12 and Hayden Forbes with 10. Roberge scored 11 points in the fourth quarter as the Wildcats (8-8) rallied 21-14 after trailing 43-36 after three quarters.
GREELY 89, POLAND 66: Seamus Raftice dropped in a team-high 11 points and Kade Ippolito and Tyler Pettengill each added nine points to lead the Rangers (9-7) over the Knights (4-12) in Cumberland.
John Patenaude and Hayden Christner scored 12 and 10 points, respectively, for Poland.
MT. ABRAM 87, VALLEY 28: The Roadrunners’ victory over Valley (10-6) featured five players who reached double-digit scoring in Salem Township.
Payton Mitchell led Mt. Abram with 22 points. Cam Grey and Tucker Plouffe scored 15 and 13 points, respectively. Logan Dube, who nailed down four 3-pointers, and Kaden Pillsbury each scored 12 points. Mt. Abram hit a total of 12 pointers for the night.
Valley’s Levi Short and Harry Lewis scored 12 and 10 points respectively.
SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 57, LISBON 44: Jace Bessey knocked down five 3-pointers and scored the game-high 20 points, leading the Phoenix (13-3) to a victory over the Greyhounds (9-8) in Jay.
Spruce Mountain’s 22-point outburst in the third quarter allowed the Phoenix to pull away from Lisbon, which led 22-9 at half time.
Ian York dropped in four 3-pointers and scored 14 points for the Phoenix. Lisbon’s Levi Tibbetts led the team with 10 points.
CARRABEC 48, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 36: Luke Carey scored 18 points for the Cobras (10-7) in their road win over the Falcons (9-8) in Rumford.
Joel Gehrke added 11 points for Carrabec, and Kolby Carpenter had nine points.
Jake New led Mountain Valley with 12 points, highlighted by three 3-pointers, while Zach New finished with seven.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
CARRABEC 45, DIRIGO 38: Lindsay Hamilton scored 21 points and Molly Hay added 16 as Carrabec (9-6) slipped away from Dirigo (5-12) in Dixfield.
Grace Robbins scored 14 points and Jace Brophy added 12.
RICHMOND 60, ST. DOMINIC 16: Kara Briand scored 15 points and Breonna Dufresne and Lila Viselli each added 12 points in Richmond’s (13-3) win over St. Dom’s (2-14) in Richmond.
Charli Apodaca and Avery Gravel each scored six points for the Saints.
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 55, YORK 39: The Patriots (14-3) broke away from a halftime tie by going on a 19-5 run in the third quarter against the Wildcats (6-10) at York.
Izzy Morelli led GNG with 16 points, followed by Ali Portas with 13 and Caitlin Taylor with 10.
McKayla Kortes scored 11 points and Ava Brent had 10 for York.
GIRLS HOCKEY
MT. ARARAT/LISBON/MORSE/LINCOLN/OCEANSIDE/BOOTHBAY 5, ST. DOMINIC/WINTHROP/MONMOUTH 1: Salin Bachor, Remy LeBel, Caragh Beasley, Hannah Hawkes and Marley LeBel each scored a goal as the Eagles (11-7) overpowered the Saints (6-12) in Auburn.
Beasley, Hawkes, Mallory Stuart and Remy LeBel all earned an assist.
St. Dom’s Gabby Allen scored an unassisted goal in the third period.
