LEWISTON — Androscoggin Bank announces Kierston Van Soest, L.L. Bean chief financial officer, and Cheryl Bascomb, Dartmouth College head of alumni relations, are new members of the board of directors.
They will join the directors and business executives who guide the vision and trajectory of Androscoggin Bank’s business banking model.
Paul H. Andersen, chairman of the board of directors, said, “Their experience and unique skill sets match perfectly with our needs.”
The two replace long serving professionals, Jean Mattimore and Steven Closson.
Van Soest chairs Bean’s investment committee and is a member of the benefits committee. She also plays a pivotal role in overseeing corporate strategy.
She serves on the board of the United Way of Southern Maine, as a member of the executive committee and chairman of the governance committee. She also serves on the New England Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and the Portland Development Corp.
Prior to joining L.L.Bean in 2002, Van Soest held leadership roles with an international public accounting firm and a publicly traded media company in Baltimore, Maryland, New York City, and Warsaw, Poland. She holds a degree from Lehigh University. She lives in Portland with her husband and two children.
Bascomb joined Dartmouth College as the vice president for alumni relations in 2018, bringing more than 30 years of private sector marketing expertise to the role. As head of alumni relations, she provides strategic vision and leadership for volunteers, alumni communications, and a wide variety of programming for over 85,000 alumni worldwide.
Bascomb spent 34 years in southern Maine working for companies, including L.L.Bean, UNUM and BerryDunn certified public accountants. She served on a number of nonprofit boards in Maine and New Hampshire, including Northeast Delta Dental, Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine and Falmouth Family Ice Center.
She, and her husband, Dave Van Wie, live in Lyme, New Hampshire.
