BETHEL — A group of about 15 adults and children headed off behind Telstar on Sunday, a blue-sky day. The youngest, James Erde, age 2, walked, since his feet were still a bit too small for snowshoes.
The event was the Snowshoe and Connect Event sponsored by SAD #44 District Resiliency Team.
Before they began adults had a chance to look at their ideas chart for future events, mark the ones they liked, and add other ideas, while both children and adults sipped hot cocoa in the cafeteria.
The Resiliency Team, is made up of teachers and administrators from across the SAD #44 district. They support mental wellness and bring resiliency ideas, programs, and best practices to students, staff, and families. They work on understanding students’ emotional traumas, needs, and how to assist students by making strong connections.
