After a stellar regular season, the University of Maine at Farmington men’s basketball team garnered three awards from the North Atlantic Conference.
Terion Moss was chosen the NAC Player of the Year for the second year in a row, Jack Kane named the Defensive Player of the Year and coach Sam Leal picked as the conference’s Coach of the Year.
Moss, a senior guard and excellent the dribbler, averaged 24.6 points the past regular season. He averaged 4.9 rebounds and assists in conference games. His scoring fetes include scoring in double digits in in 24 games the past season.
He turned in a 38-point performance at the University of Maine at Presque Isle the past January and he earned the NAC’s Player of the Week on four occasions in his final season. Moss has scored 1,635 career points during his tenure.
Kane made 72 blocks this season and he averages 2.8 blocks per game. In conference play, he pulled down 98 defensive rebounds. He averaged 14.3 points per game the past season. Kane is no stranger to accolades after having been named Player of the Week four times during the regular season.
This is the second season for Leal, who replaced the late Dick Meader in 2020. He has a career coaching record of 35-15.
The Beavers host SUNY-Delhi in Farmington for the men’s NAC title on Saturday at 2 p.m.

WOMENS LACROSSE
COLORADO 14, BATES 10: Tobin Lonergan scored four goals and the Tigers (1-0) erupted with five goals in the fourth quarter to shake off the Bobcats (1-1) in Colorado Springs.
Bates and Colorado settled for a 9-9 tie through three quarters before the Tigers broke of the Bobcats in the final stanza.
Bates’ Trish Balser scored three goals and Hanna Mathews had two.
