The Johnstown Tomahawks had a big second period en route to a 4-2 victory over the Maine Nordiques in an NAHL East Division game at The Colisee in Lewiston on Friday night.

Johnstown scored all four goals in the middle frame.

Anthony Galente tied the game at 1-1, 4:28 into the second period and then Drake Albers scored less than two minutes later, giving Johnstown a 2-1 lead.

Nordiques defenseman Evan Orloff knotted the contest at 2-2 midway through the second period on the power play. Goalie Kael DePape (25 saves) had the assist.

Maine went 1 for 4 on the man-advantage and Johnstown was 2 for 7.

Nick Ahern scored back-to-back goals late in the second period, giving the Tomahawks a 4-2 lead.

Kellen Murphy beat Johnstown goalie Adam Johnson (22 saves) with seven minutes remaining in the first period, giving the Nordiques the initial 1-0 lead. Caid Cox and Filip Wiberg had the assists.

The Nordiques (26-17-3, 55 points) still maintain a two-point lead over the Northeast Generals (24-18-5, 53 points) for third place in the East Division. Johnstown (23-20-3, 49 points) is in fifth place and four points back for the final playoff spot.

The rubber match between Maine and Johnston is 7 p.m. on Saturday.
