100 Years Ago: 1923
The regular meeting of Litchfield Grange No. 127 was held March 6th with 50 in attendance. The forenoon session was devoted to the transaction of business. One application for membership was received.
Arrangements were made for a special entertainment at the next meeting, Mar. 20th, in celebration of the 48th anniversary of the organization of the Grange. Cake and ice cream will be served.
50 Years Ago: 1973
The March meeting of the Pitch-In 4-H Club was held recently at the home of Ernest Cook, Stetson Read, Auburn. Soil and conservation posters were discussed and they will be due at the next meeting.
Janet Jorgensen, a student from Denmark who is attending Leavitt Area High School, gave an illustrated talk on the customs, and people of Denmark. The older girls served Danish pastries and Miss Jorgensen then taught the group some Danish games.
25 Years Ago: 1998
“A Maritime History of Maine,” and “Lobstering and the Maine Coast,” and “Percy and Small Shipyards,” all continuing exhibits; and “We Remember. The Battleship Maine,” will be featured through Nov. 8. Hours: 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. daily except major holidays, Maine Maritime Museum, 243 Washington St. in Bath.
