Season outlook: The Cougars will be rebuilding with one veteran returning and the loss of their top seven players.

EDWARD LITTLE RED EDDIES
Coach: Greg Vincent (14th year)
Class: A North; Conference: KVAC
Last year’s results: 4-10, reached regional quarterfinals.
Returning athletes: Seniors — Jonah Chen (Sun Journal first team), Lucas Pawlina (Sun Journal first team); Junior — Brady Kilby.
Key losses: Jacob Bennett, Owen Winslow.
Promising newcomers: Senior — Richie Romano; Junior — Axel Escobar; Freshmen — Calvin Vincent, Kadan Haider Roussell, Gavin Pelletier, Calvin Cormier.
Season outlook: The Red Eddies will try to make a run at the KVAC championship. Edward Little’s singles players are expected to fortify its postseason hopes, and the Eddies also have enough depth to consistently compete in No. 2 doubles.

LEWISTON BLUE DEVILS
Coach: Tom LeBlond (12th year)
Class: A North; Conference: KVAC
Last year’s results: 2-11, lost in first round.
Returning athletes: Seniors — Ben Cloutier, Evan Greaton, Jack Kahan; Juniors — Dru Angelides, Gavin Bavis (Sun Journal first team), Everett Mailhot, Austin Vincent.
Promising newcomer: Caleb Paris.
Season outlook: The Blue Devils’ top eight players are returning, and with the help of some promising newcomers they could surprise the competition in the postseason.

MT. BLUE COUGARS
Coach: Zac Conlogue (ninth year)
Class: A North; Conference: KVAC
Last year’s results: 7-6, reached regional quarterfinals.
Returning athletes: Senior — Carson Zundel; Juniors — James Stinson, Tim Williamson (Sun Journal first team), Alex Rackliff, Aydrian Dakin, Jacob Caton, Jack Cramer, Logan Walsh, Calvin Tanner; Sophomores — Eli Hoeft, Nate Armstrong, Gordon McBean.
Key losses: Bernardo Tovar (Sun Journal Player of the Year), Mason Biello (Sun Journal first team).
Promising newcomers: Juniors — Diego Cortes, Zihan Yu, Nick Welch, Austin Ragsdale, Darren Pinkham, Jadon Callahan; Sophomore — Grayson Hoeft; Freshmen — Lincoln Tierney, Nate Zeliger, Connor Greenleaf, Preston Labbe, Nick Bell, Eli Kalchik.
Season outlook: The Cougars lost a key singles and doubles player, but despite having one senior returning, their numbers are strong, and the newcomers are determined to improve. After a strong 2022 season, the Cougars are excited to be back on the courts.

MOUNTAIN VALLEY FALCONS
Coach: Todd Papianou (11th year)
Class: C South; Conference: MVC
Last year’s results: 6-5, reached regional quarterfinals.
Returning athletes: Juniors — Owen Sevigny (MVC first team), Nate Gallant, River Durant, Nathan Gamache, Caleb Gamache (MVC second team), Brody Jamison.
Key loss: Ian Cameron.
Promising newcomers: Junior — Joel Tardiff; Sophomore — Ben Desalle.
Season outlook: Mountain Valley’s solid core of juniors could give the Falcons the edge in the MVCs and a good shot in the Class C South tournament.

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN PHOENIX
Coach: Marc Keller (third year)
Class: C South; Conference: MVC
Last year’s results: 5-6, reached regional quarterfinals.
Returning athletes: Juniors — Ian York (MVC first team), Tyler Guay, Jesse Lewis; Sophomores — Jaziah Lavoie, Bryce Comeau, Jonah Moore.
Key losses: Owen Bryant (MVC first team), Cully Johnson.
Promising newcomers: Senior — Brayden Libby; Junior — Payton Medrano; Sophomores — Jace Bessey, Ben Burgess.
Season outlook: The Phoenix return five of their top seven players and want to use their successes from the past season as a springboard for this year. The Phoenix are determined to make some noise in the MVC.

WINTHROP RAMBLERS
Coach: Dania Price (second year)
Class: C South; Conference: MVC
Last year’s results: 0-11, lost in first round.
Returning athletes: Junior — David Gustin; Sophomores — Joseph Szakas, Logan Harrison.
Key loss: Nate Hachey.
Promising newcomers: Seniors — Robby Feeney, Jayce Corgan; Junior — Lukas Woodruff; Sophomore — Joey Dolan; Freshmen — Sawyer Rooney, Jack Thaller.
Season outlook: The Ramblers have had a strong turnout and this newfound depth will play a key role in their success this season.
