A Fix-A-Bike Workshop is scheduled to be held in both Mt. Vernon and Readfield Monday, May 1.

The event is for those curious about bicycle mechanics, looking to maintain their bike or conduct long-overdue care, and perform a roadside repair.

The two-hour hands-on workshop is open to teens and adults. They are asked to bring their bike along. All tools and instruction will be provided. People also can bring a helmet for a fit inspection.

Limited spots are available for each workshop. People are asked to register for the workshop site and time that works best for their schedule, regardless of the town they live in.

The outdoor workshops will be held from 2:30-4:30pm at Dr. Shaw Memorial Library, 344 Pond Road in Mt. Vernon, and 5-7 p.m. at Readfield Community Library, 1151 Main St. in Readfield.

To register for the Mt. Vernon workshop, call 207-293-2565 or email librarian@drshawlibrary.org.

To register for the Readfield workshop, call 207-695-4089 or email librarian@readfieldmaine.org.
