BUCKFIELD — Brittany Carrier had three hits, including a homer and a double, to pace Buckfield to a season-opening 15-2 softball win over Richmond on Thursday.
Carrier finished with four RBIs and stole two bases. Cora Brewster and Carmen Crockett each contributed a double and Addison Stevens Belanger had a triple for the Bucks (1-0).
Crockett earned the win, allowing two hits and striking out eight strikeouts.
Richmond (0-1) scored both of its runs in the third.
ST. DOMINIC 7, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 2: Kassidy Cote had two hits and two RBIs for the Saints (1-0) in a win over the Seagulls (0-1) in Auburn.
Sophia Franciose had a pair of hits for St. Dom’s. Ellia Dick and Emily Andrews each hit a double, and Maddie Andrews went the distance in the circle, allowing two hits and striking out 12.
Hanna Webber drove in both runs for Old Orchard Beach.
GIRLS LACROSSE
MT. BLUE 18, LAWRENCE 8: Chloe Roberts scored seven goals and Talia Kidder added five as the Cougars rolled over the Bulldogs in Farmington.
Emma Dunn and Alissa Butterfield each scored two goals.
Lawrence’s Moo Madison led the team with five goals. Dani Wilson had two.
EDWARD LITTLE 11, DEERING 10: Izzy Hayes slipped in five goals and Stella Smith add four as the Red Eddies shook off the Rams in Portland.
Korah Cunningham and KK Langlois each scored a goal and goalie Piper Bonnefond made 14 saves for the Red Eddies.
