We are living in a culture of death.

Teen suicides are at all-time highs, and thousands are dying from drug overdoses. Birth and fertility rates across the nation are at all-time lows.

We have an aging population, and many younger people choosing to start families later in life or not at all. What kind of legacy are we leaving?

Nationally there are approximately 3,000 abortions per day across the country, amounting to nearly one 9/11 event every day of the year. And yet, our government wants to see more.

LD 1619 is extreme. It would expand abortion rights up to birth with no restrictions. Only a few other states have equally egregious legislation.

It is important to note that only two other countries in the world have similar abortion laws. Anyone care to guess who? Well let me help them out: North Korea and in some provinces in China. Not exactly two bastions of liberty and freedom. Yet, if LD 1619 passes that is exactly who we would be following.

North Korea, China and Maine; is that the company we want to keep? Life or death? I choose life and encourage others to do the same.

Legislators must know that all lives matter, especially the most vulnerable. They must vote no on LD 1619.
