FARMINGTON — Chloe Roberts punched in five goals and three assists in Mt. Blue’s 16-4 girls lacrosse victory over Lawrence on Friday.
Talia Kidder, Emma Dunn and Lily Huntley each turned in a hat trick for the Cougars (2-0), and Maya Kellett had one goal.
For Lawrence (0-2), Kaylee Nutter, Madison Chamberlin, Whitney Churchill and Zoie Ward each scored a goal.
SOFTBALL
OXFORD HILLS 10, CAMDEN HILLS 0: Gigi DeVivo and Kyeria Morse each had three hits in the Vikings’ 14-hit attack as they overpowered the Windjammers (0-1) in the season opener in South Paris.
The Vikes (1-0) built a swift 10-0 lead by the fourth inning. Miah Gallan hit one of her two triples to open the game and Kaydence Morse drove in three runs.
Oxford Hills pitcher Maddy Miller went four innings and struck out seven batters.
Kyeria Morse came in to pitch the final fifth inning.
Maya Stone belted the Windjammers’ only hit in the first inning.
MADISION 16, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 3: Kylee Furbush doubled and tripled and teammate Mackenzie Robbins drove in six runs on four hits to lead the Bulldogs (1-0) past the Falcons (0-1) in Game 1 of a doubleheader in Rumford.
Furbush also got the win in the circle.
For Mountain Valley, Brooke Bennett and Mallorie Bourret each had two hits.
MADISON 8, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 4: The Bulldogs (2-0) rode a seven-run second inning in the second game to earn a doubleheader sweep of the Falcons (0-2) in Rumford.
Mackenzie Robbins had another big game for Madison, driving in three runs on three hits.
BREWER 11, EDWARD LITTLE 9: Jordan Williams hammered a three-run walk-off homer in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the Witches an extra-innings win over the Red Eddies in Brewer.
Emma Jameson doubled twice and and singled for Brewer. Winning pitcher Sara Young went the distance with five strikeouts.
Izzy Jalbert drove in three runs on three hits for Edward Little. Kassidy Lobb had three hits and two RBIs, and Madisyn Scott knocked in a run and drove in a run.
HALL-DALE 13, MT. ABRAM 0: Marie Benoit had a triple, two singles and four RBIs to lead the Bulldogs to the win in Farmingdale.
Ashlynn Donahue added a double, two singles and two RBIs for Hall-Dale (1-0), while Torie Tibbetts had two singles and three RBIs and Lucy Gray and Zoe Soule two singles and two RBIs apiece.
Mt. Abram falls to 0-1.
BASEBALL
MEDOMAK 4, LEAVITT 2: Matthew Holbrook hit a single and a double and pitched a four-hitter to lead the Panthers to a season-opening win in Turner.
Aaron Reed also had a double and Chase Peaslee contributed two singles for Medomak.
Leavitt pitcher Will Keach allowed four unearned runs in the fourth inning. He led the Hornets’ offense with a single and a double.
Leavitt scored its runs in the sixth.
MT. ABRAM 22, HALL-DALE 5: Logan Dube had three singles and seven RBIs to lead the Roadrunners to the win in Farmingdale.
Trevor Plouffe added a triple, two singles and three RBIs for Mt. Abram (1-0), while Kaden Pillsbury had a double, two singles and three RBIs.
BREWER 3, EDWARD LITTLE 2: Grady Vanidestine threw a complete game, striking out five, allowing eight hits and walking three in the Witches’ win over the Red Eddies at Mansfield Stadium in Bangor.
Vanidestine also had a hit and scored twice. Jed Gilpatrick had a triple and a single while driving in two runs for Brewer (2-0), and Kaiden Morin doubled and singled.
TJ Kramarz hit three singles for Edward Little (1-1), and Campbell Cassidy and Brody Keefe had two singles apiece. Kramarz and Campbell each scored a run.
Campbell also went the distance on the mound. He struck out seven, walked one and allowed seven hits.
