The 27th annual Bath Savings Paddle for Pine Tree Camp returns this June to Kennebec and Androscoggin rivers. Paddlers will have the chance to reunite in Solon for the traditional route down the Kennebec River or experience the new loop on the Androscoggin River in Brunswick.

There are three ways to participate, with fundraising teams.

1. Paddle on the Kennebec River on Saturday, June 3. The adventure starts at Evergreens Campground, Route 201A in Solon, and ends in North Anson.

2. Paddle on the Androscoggin River on Sunday, June 4. The experience starts and ends at the Water Street Boat Launch in Brunswick.

3. Participate virtually in one’s favorite outdoor activity. Go on a bike ride. Take a family hike on a local trail. Walk around the neighborhood. Have a dance party. Or go for a paddle in a kayak.

Expanding the paddle to two rivers serves one purpose: to raise funds for Maine children and adults with disabilities to experience freedom and independence at Pine Tree Camp. Pine Tree is Maine’s only American Camping Association-Accredited camp for people with disabilities, and 100% of proceeds from this event directly benefit Pine Tree Camp’s Open Door Policy, meaning the camp turns no camper away regardless of ability to pay, according to a news release from the society.
