To the Editor:
Otisfield’s community spirit was on full display this Saturday with well over 60 enthusiastic and hardworking volunteers participating in our annual roadside clean-up. The clean-up was sponsored by the Otisfield Conservation Committee and supported by our Town Selectmen.
I would like to thank Frank Blauvelt and Ginny Noble of the Otisfield Social Outreach Committee (Community Lunch Group) who fed us a great lunch after we finished the clean-up. We greatly appreciated their hospitality.
Thank you, Gary Dyer, Chris Bean, and Jim Howard. We appreciate all your work picking up the tires, car parts, and heavy trash bags. Also, we are grateful for the support of Alissa Leonard and Brendan Bedell of the Otisfield Fire Department and, of course, all our fabulous volunteers – aged four to eighty-six! Our town looks wonderful.
We hope that all townspeople remember that both the Otisfield Transfer Station and Casco Bulky Waste have helpful and welcoming staff and that is where our trash is meant to end up – not on the side of our roads or in our beautiful streams, brooks, ponds, and lakes.

Chair, Otisfield Conservation Committee
