NORWAY — The Western Maine Art Group will host a juried art exhibit at the Matolcsy Art Center, 480 Main Street in Norway, concurrent with the Norway Arts and Musical Festival on July 8. This exhibit will begin with a reception on Friday, July 7, from five until seven o’clock and will be judged on Saturday, July 8. The judge will be David Little, Maine artist and author. Prizes will be announced at two o’clock on Saturday. The exhibit will be open from ten until four on Saturday, except for a brief interval at one o’clock for judging.
The artwork of twenty-five Maine artists, in varied media and styles, will be featured in the exhibit. The exhibit will continue through July 29. Throughout July, the exhibit will be open on Fridays and Saturdays from noon until three o’clock, and any other times when the “open” flag is displayed.
Three cash prizes will be awarded, including $300 for first place, $200 for second, and $100 for third. Western Maine Art Group thanks Moosehead Farms and the Stoned Moose of Bethel and 100 Aker Wood of Norway for their generosity in contributing to the prizes.
While the Matolcsy Art Center is open on Saturday, the Western Maine Art Group will host a lawn sale of members’ artwork on the lawn.
