DEAR SUN SPOTS: I need help for my husband, Sam, who is in a regular wheelchair because he can’t walk or stand up. He’s been at Clover Manor in Auburn for 10 months. His birthday is coming up and he wants to go to the Oxford Casino for two hours. I need somebody to take him with a handicapped-accessible van to Oxford on July 16. We’ve been married for 47 years and have always gone to the casino on our anniversary. Our anniversary was June 5 and this year we couldn’t go. Please help get Sam to the casino on July 16. This would make Sam very happy. He also belongs to the Knights of Columbus at Holy Family. If you can help, call Mary Ann at 207-782-1157 in Lewiston. Leave a message because every day I go to visit Sam at different times, so I am out. Thank you. — Mary Ann, Lewiston
ANSWER: I hope someone can help Sam and Mary Ann. This would be a wonderful way of giving back.

It’s pretty hard to beat a fresh scone with a hot cup of coffee! — Roland, Auburn
