JAY — The Select Board voted Monday for the Planning Board to lead an update of the 2011 Comprehensive Plan.

A representative from Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments attended the June 13 Planning Board meeting to discuss the effect of recent state legislation on the town’s regulations. One item was the Comprehensive Plan, Town Manager Shiloh LaFreniere wrote in a memo to the board.

AVCOG helps planning boards with this process.

The cost will come from the Environmental Reserve Account.

Once the process is underway, planners may look for two Select Board members to take part.

In 2010, the town established a Comprehensive Plan Committee to review the physical inventory of the town and do an analysis to help determine where residents would like to see the town in 10 years. The committee hoped to develop a vision for the next 10 years.
