Ed Robinson of Orr’s Island, Harpswell, Maine, will be at the Rangeley Public Library on Wednesday, July 19th at 6:00 PM. An avid outdoorsman and writer, Ed will present fine photographs of some of Maine’s beautiful and iconic wildlife. His talk will feature stunning images, animal calls, facts, and anecdotes about a variety of species that make Maine a special place.
Born in the Finger Lakes region of New York, Ed has a life-long love for wild creatures and the natural world around us.  For 18 years he has been improving wildlife habitat at an old farm near Ithaca, NY.  Ed is involved with several respected conservation groups including Trout Unlimited and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
After college Ed worked and studied photography at Eastman Kodak, with assignments in Singapore, Mexico, England and Australia.  Ed later spent 35 years in life sciences, leading companies in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical fields across 40 countries.  During that time Ed and his family lived in England for 14 years.  They moved to Orr’s Island of Harpswell in 2007.
His education includes a B.Sc. in Marketing and Management from Clarkson University and an MBA in Management from the Rochester Institute of Technology.  Ed also attended the Executive Management Program at Pennsylvania State University.
Ed volunteers with the Harpswell Heritage Land Trust and served as a trustee from 2014 – 2020.  He has published two books of wildlife essays in a series called Nature Notes from Maine.  Ed’s third book will be published in 2023.
Ed’s book, Nature Notes from Maine: River Otters, Moose, Skunks & More, will be for sale at the Library with all proceeds benefitting conservation and public education.
