AUBURN — Race two of this year’s Greater L-A Triple Crown 5K Series will be held Sunday.
In past years the race began and ended at Edward Little High School on Harris Street, but due to construction at the site this year’s race will start and end at Auburn Middle School at 38 Falcon Drive off Court Street.
Emily’s Run will kick off at 8:30 a.m.
Runners will leave the middle school, turning left onto Court Street, turning left on Park Avenue past the elementary school, turning right on Lake Street, turning right on Fern Street, then a left on Dexter Avenue, and finally turning right back onto Court Street and returning to the middle school.
Parking is available at Auburn Middle School and along the Laysa Field Complex access road. Parking spaces are limited so organizers have asked people to carpool when possible.
Motorists are urged to be patient when passing runners, or to seek alternative routes.
Emily’s Run is organized in memory of Emily Fletcher, who was a standout runner while attending Edward Little High School. She died in a car crash in 2004.
All proceeds benefit the Fletcher Foundation, which will give two scholarships to deserving Edward Little students in her name, as well as donations to the Auburn Public Library, the Auburn Nordic Ski Association, the Stanton Bird Club, and the Androscoggin Land Trust.
Advance registration is $30; event day registration is $35; entry is free for all children ages 14 and younger.
