Students will arrive at 9 a.m. July 29 for a dress rehearsal for a 1 p.m. performance. The center would like parents’ help Wednesday through Friday in be making and painting the set, sewing costumes, making, and finding props, according to a news release from Susan Beane, executive director.

Mary Bastoni, the director and costume designer from seasons past at M&D productions, teaches at the School of Music at the University of Southern Maine and at Mountain Top Music Center.

In “The Point!” a fairy tale performance with musical theater campers, Harry Nilsson gives a commentary on society that has long-lasting poignancy. The 52-year-old concept album was of its time and hard-hitting today. The play is about the importance of differences and how that is what makes for a healthy community, society and workplace. “Me and My Arrow” and “Think About Your Troubles” are popular songs from the concept album.
