The rain stopped long enough for the West Paris Downhill Derby to hold their first race of the summer on Saturday, July 8. Winners of the race, from left, are Liam Holland, Second Place; Steven McCann, First Place; and Liam Preo, Third Place. If you have a child interested in racing the Derby has cars for kids to use if they don’t have their own car. Cars are handed out on a first come, first served basis. The next races are scheduled for Saturday, August 12 and Saturday, September 9. Registration is 9 to 10 a.m. Races start at 10:30 a.m. Anyone is welcome to come watch the races, cheer on the kids and enjoy a burger or hot dog from the snack shack.
